Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) have announced the appointment of Michael Knott as the new Chair of its Land and Property Action Group. Michael, a Planning Director in our Reading team, will work closely with other members of the group to maximise the opportunities of the significant investment being made in infrastructure development in the Enterprise M3 area.
Enterprise M3’s Land and Property Group brings together stakeholders from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, to develop and recommend policies to take forward the Land and Property Actions identified in the LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan. The Group will also provide expert knowledge and insights to support the decision making of the Enterprise M3’s Board.
“I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity to support the work of the Enterprise M3 LEP. I intend to work closely with the mix of public and private sector members of the LEP’s Land and Property Action Group, focusing on the objectives established through the LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan.
“There are significant challenges restricting the delivery of new development within the vitally important economic area. I will work with the LEP to continue engaging with relevant government departments, agencies and local partners in order to advance the need for significant infrastructure investment to support growth.”
Michael has in-depth knowledge of the area including the key constraints to the delivery of new infrastructure and development, which restricts economic growth in the sub-region. In his role as Planning Director at Barton Willmore, Michael is actively involved in a range of development projects across the LEP area, some of which includes the promotion of Longcross Garden Village in Runnymede, the proposed urban extension at North East Guildford and Barton Willmore’s involvement at Whitehill & Bordon. Michael benefits from good relationships with many of the LEP’s local authority partners, statutory consultees and the development industry.
Enterprise M3 Board representative on the Land and Property Group, Chris Tinker, who is also Executive Board Director and Regeneration Chairman of Crest Nicholson, said:
“We are really pleased to have Michael as the new Chair of the Land and Property Group. He has been an active member of the group for over two years with a profound understanding of the key issues that the group needs to address.”
