Our Planners in Leeds have supported a developer with plans to build 550 family homes near Morley gaining outline planning permission.
Leeds City Council gave the green light to housebuilders Persimmon Homes for its proposals to build detached and semi-detached family homes at Lane Side Farm, off Victoria Road.
We supported the developers in securing the outline permission, and a further reserved matters application will now be made in 2019.
The proposals include 550 homes for the 24 hectare site along with two high quality park areas with landscaping, play areas and footpaths.
Jane Beckett, Senior Planner at Barton Willmore, said: “This is an important site that will bring much needed new family homes to Morley, Leeds.
“Persimmon Homes has developed ambitious plans that represent significant investment in Morley. During the construction phase and once completed, these new homes will bring an economic boost to businesses in Morley town centre and the local area.”
Persimmon will also contribute in the region of £2.1m towards local infrastructure through what is known as the Community Infrastructure Levy.
Paul Thornton, Planning Manager for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “Persimmon welcomes the opportunity to bring this site forward, alongside the community, bringing much-needed new housing to the area.”
