Our team have secured planning permission for a new 119-bedroom Holiday Inn Express Hotel for Dowlas UK Ltd at the Weston Gateway Business Park in Weston-Super-Mare.
Providing Town Planning services, our planning submission to North Somerset Council highlighted the importance the hotel’s delivery would have on ensuring the Business Park remained attractive to the market and potential occupiers.
The new Holiday Inn Express hotel, when fully operational, will achieve a four-star rating and will deliver approximately 100 new jobs at the site. This will help to improve the marketability of the remaining plots and to stimulate further job creation at the Business Park.
Cai Parry, Planner in our Cardiff team, said: “This new hotel will provide high quality accommodation and support the development of a vibrant and modern Weston-Super-Mare. The provision of meeting and conferencing facilities will also broaden the appeal of the town.”

The site is part of a wider masterplan for Weston Gateway that currently comprises the Knightstone Housing Association Headquarters, planned and designed by our team, as well as the Avon & Somerset Police Response Centre to the north and The Super Mare pub to the east. The remaining plots are yet to be developed but benefit from outline planning permission for employment uses.
