The Urban Design Group National Conference is coming to Birmingham on the 26-28 September. Design Director, Luke Hillson will be hosting the Design Quality Summit at this year’s event, sharing his expertise in delivering great places and his knowledge on residential place-making and mixed-use developments.
His session will include a presentation on the current leading Design Guidance, Codes and Assessment Systems and will be followed by a workshop discussion on their effectiveness and impact, concluding with the steps that need to be undertaken to improve design quality.
On discussing the forthcoming opportunity, Luke said “I’m delighted to host the Design Quality Summit as part of the National Urban Design Conference. A great panel of speakers with a variety of experience in local authority, academic and commercial backgrounds should give a great insight into how to Raise the Quality of Design.”
Luke is extremely active in the design world regionally, holding the following complementary positions to his role as Design Director in our City centre based team - West Midlands Urban Design Forum (WMUDF) Chair, Vice Chair of the RTPI West Midlands and Built Environment Expert for the Design Council.
