A map designed and produced by Barton Willmore’s Graphic Design team in Bristol has helped to raise £30,000 at a charity auction this month. The map was auctioned at local charity Above & Beyond’s celebration dinner for the Golden Gift Appeal at the start of March. The A1 stretched canvas of the map was part of a number of prizes that were auctioned off in order to raise much-needed funds for the charity.
The hand-illustrated map gained a lot of interest on the night and they are now being sold at the Arnolfini art gallery and the Bristol Tourist Information Centre. Each poster costs £7.95 with £3 from every sale being donated to local charities.
Lorna Montgomery, Major Gifts, Trusts and Foundations Manager from Above & Beyond said:
Many thanks to Barton Willmore for donating a canvas print for auction at our recent Celebration Dinner for the Golden Gift Appeal. Great interest was shown in the print which went for a substantial sum helping Above & Beyond raise £30,000.’
The event was part of the charities Golden Gift Appeal which has held a number of fundraising events as well as taking individual donations and has so far raised £5 million of its £6 million target. The charity raises funds in order to make a real difference to patient care in Bristol’s hospitals and funds projects to improve the hospital environment, support ground breaking research and fund state-of the-art equipment.
