Ben joined Barton Willmore in 2017 and is a chartered town planner with over sixteen years’ experience in the private sector.
As national lead for infrastructure and energy, Ben specialises in large scale development proposals and has worked on a range of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. He has acted for project promoters, land owners and local authorities at all stages of the Development Consent Order process established by the Planning Act 2008. Ben led on both the Glyn Rhonwy Pumped Storage DCO and the DCO for Tata Steel’s power station enhancements in Port Talbot. He has provided strategic advice to clients affected by DCO applications, and to those seeking to use the regime for projects outside the thresholds established by the Planning Act 2008. Alongside his DCO experience, Ben has led on a number of renewable energy developments and advised on a number of radioactive waste management projects across the UK.
Ben is a Council Member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association.
