Our teams secured a resolution to grant planning permission from Wokingham Borough Council for their transformation of the historic 120 acre Bearwood Park Estate into a world-class training campus for Reading Football Club.
The new site will replace the current training ground at Hogwood Park and will become home for both the first team and youth academy.
As well as a total of 13 different-sized football pitches, the development will include the club’s headquarters, changing rooms and visitor facilities including a café, in addition to the refurbishment of existing buildings to provide residential accommodation.
This transformation will create:
- 13 football pitches
- The club's headquarters
- Visitor facilities
- Residential accommodation
Set within a listed park and gardens, the new and refurbished buildings are framed within the dense green landscape, providing a scenic backdrop to facilities of the highest quality, balancing unique design with the business aims of the club.
A series of new courtyards tie together the refurbished listed buildings and the proposed contemporary facilities. The scheme has also involved extensive discussions with Historic England and local residents groups.
