Commissioned by East Renfrewshire Council, as part of their Professional Services Framework, this project involved advising on the design feasibility of establishing a new visitor centre within the Dams to Darnley Country Park.
The park covers approximately 1,350 acres and occupies greenspace around the East Renfrewshire and Glasgow City boundary. The area has a range of landscape settings including open water, wetland, woodland and farmland.
The architectural design was largely influenced and developed in response to the civic nature of the brief and characteristics of the site. The design approach drew on the idea of a singular form which entered into a dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
