Hammersmith Town Hall

Acting on behalf of A2Dominion and LB Hammersmith and Fulham, we submitted a planning and listed building consent application for a two-storey extension to the existing Grade II Town Hall to provide replacement council offices and secure the civic function of the listed building in the long term. Demolition of the existing 1970s Town Hall Extension enables the creation of a new civic square fronting the Grade II Town Hall and creation of four new build blocks comprising circa 200 new homes, retail and restaurant units, cinema, office and enterprise units. The scheme comprises over 50% affordable homes.

The key issues raised by the scheme include the response to heritage, affordable housing, balance of land uses and high-quality design and public realm.

Our team co-ordinated the submission of the planning and listed building consent application, including the preparation of the accompanying Environmental Impact Assessment. Working with the team we secured the required Committee date to meet the wider project programme for decant, demolition and redevelopment.
