Our Planning team has provided ongoing asset management advice to Hammerson, the owners and operators of the WestQuay Shopping Centre in Southampton, regarding policy matters including the implications of the emerging City Centre Area Action Plan and Community Infrastructure Levy.
We also advised on asset enhancement measures, securing approval for comprehensive improvements to the Centre’s Food Court and Watermark WestQuay, a 68,500m² mixed use extension lying adjacent to the WestQuay Centre.
The newest extension is a major (68,500 sqm) mixed use scheme that will deliver a significant expansion to the retail and leisure offer of Southampton City Centre. Comprising a 27 storey residential tower, cinema, hotels, office, retail and leisure uses along with a new public plaza, the scheme lays adjacent to a Grade I Listed Scheduled Ancient Monument. Phase I is currently on site and due to open in December 2016 and our team are currently working on the delivery of Phase II.
