News: 18 May 2017Leeds team success as plans approved for Harrogate Spring Water...

Our Leeds team have secured unanimous outline planning permission to expand Harrogate Spring Water’s bottling facility.

Approved by Harrogate Council, the extension to the facility in the town will provide an additional 59,000 sq ft of floorspace and expand its production. Bringing many benefits to the local area, the expansion will increase employee levels by 47% whilst the construction phase of the development could add as much as £1.5m to the local economy.

Our team provided Town Planning, Research, Landscape Design and Graphic Communication services for the project.

Stuart Natkus, planning director at Barton Willmore, said:

“The extension will deliver the capacity for Harrogate Spring Water to continue to flourish as a business that benefits the town and the regional economy.

“The plans will also enhance nearby public footpaths and the surrounding area for residents and visitors of Harrogate to enjoy.”

James Cain, managing director of Harrogate Water Brands, said: "This is good news for Harrogate Water, for our workforce and for our vision of growing the business responsibly for the mutual benefit of the town, creating more employment and building on the Harrogate Spa heritage.

“We have been extremely encouraged by the support we have received which means we can proceed positively to further improve what is already one of the most environmentally efficient plants in Europe.

“We intend to create a site that the community will be proud of; with extensive tree planting, paths and storyboards to illustrate our unique water history."
